Introduction to Waihirere 2021

Kia ora! Ola! Malo! Welcome to All, 

This is the blog site for our Year 6 tamariki here at Riverdale School in our beautiful city known as Turanga-nui-a-kiwa or Gisborne.  Our class name is called Waihirere.  Our classrooms are named after the many rivers that embrace our City.   Waihirere is situated in one of the main tribes, Te Aitanga a Mahaki  and this is where our wonderful school is located within these tribal lands.

Term 4, Week 1 - Nau mai, hoki mai ki te akomanga o Waihirere, Ruma 4. Kia ora all, Week 1 our students have been exploring visual art using google drawings. Our artist this week is Pablo Picasso and after learning all about who he is and his techniques, we attempted to replicate and interpret them in our own self portrait. Me he te! Pablo Picasso.
